Concerning Portuguese musicians, the 20th of March (Friday) was completely dedicated to the Legendary Tigerman. Around 4.30pm a show at Antone’s Record Shop, somewhere 2 or 3km in downtown Austin. With some adventures in between including ending up in the wrong place and having received the precious help of two Austin habitants, I got to the concert’s location which had already started.
In his usual style with the guitar on his lap and the drums pedals, the show given by Paulo Furtado was very good and of great intensity giving thus credit to his fame, particularly in such a small room.
I didn’t take many pictures but here are some for the posterity, of a showcase to which only some privileged witnesses, with a particular note for some Portuguese, the shop staff and some clients that stopped by. See also some more pictures in Clã’s blog (blog dos Clã).
Shortly after the show was ended in the Antone’s Record Shop I only had time to cross the street for another concert, now at the Spiderhouse, of which I’ll talk about tomorrow.
